We still have May 2004 Australian Phone Discs at a special price for Biscount customers. This is the LAST Phone Disc! (Thank Telstra for this!!!) This is still very useful for adding Customer Details in areas where people do not move a lot!!
Operating Systems
Windows XP - Biscount runs well in Windows XP, but if you are used to using Windows 98 then we recommend that you upgrade to Windows 2000 as it is a much easier learning curve.
Windows Vista and Windows 7 - please DO NOT! There are problems! The best solution is to buy Win 7 and get the Back-grade to Windows XP. The back-grade has been extended to 2020 (That tells you how good Windows XP is!!)
Windows XP Is a proven, stable and easy to use Operating System
Biscount will run in Win 7 & Vista BUT we recommend Windows XP Pro for simpler and less trouble-free computing. Windows 7 is better than Vista but it has new problems with it - so stay with XP - you also do not have to relearn how to use Windows!!!
Windows 98 SE was a good operating system but it has been left behind - Windows 2000 and later are much more stable and faster. We do not recommend Windows ME (More Errors) although Biscount will operate in Windows ME!.
IMPORTANT Wireless Networking
If you are considering using wireless networking then we recommend that you don't!
If you must, then please contact Biscount for assistance as there are special considerations to eliminate the errors caused by wireless networks.
